Child safety standards

1. Our commitment

The Esimaje Foundation (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting children and young people who take part in our mentorship and education programs. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including the production, distribution, or solicitation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, trafficking, or any sexual conduct involving minors through our Services.

2. Prohibited conduct

You must not use our websites, apps, or program tools to:

• Share, request, or distribute CSAM or any sexualised content involving minors;
• Groom, coerce, or sexually exploit any person under 18, or facilitate contact for that purpose;
• Harass, threaten, or bully minors or vulnerable participants;
• Misrepresent your identity or age in order to gain inappropriate access to minors;
• Use our Services to arrange unsupervised in-person contact that breaches our program rules or safeguarding policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, and cooperate with law enforcement and competent authorities where we believe there is a risk of harm or a legal obligation to act.

3. Reporting within the app (sensitive comments)

Authorized users who can add comments on mentorship records—including session notes and related mentorship activity—can flag a concern by marking a comment as sensitive when they post it. When a comment is marked sensitive, our system notifies designated program staff (for example mentorship coordinators) by email so the matter can be reviewed promptly.

Use this in-app option when you observe behaviour or content in the program that may put a child at risk or that should be escalated for safeguarding review. For emergencies where someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Include a clear description of what happened, when it occurred, and any relevant screenshots or references (without attaching illegal material). We take reports seriously and will respond in line with our safeguarding procedures and applicable law.

5. CSAM and law enforcement

We report CSAM to the appropriate authorities as required by law. We do not allow content that exploits or endangers children, and we preserve and disclose information to law enforcement when legally required or when we reasonably believe it necessary to prevent harm.
